Summer Dress

Wer mir bei Instagram folgt (@pieces_of_mariposa) wird sicherlich schon mitbekommen haben, dass ich das letzte Wochenende mit meinen Mädls in Dresden verbracht habe. Bevor ich euch ein paar Impressionen aus der sächsischen Landeshauptstadt zeige kommt heute schon mal der erste von drei Outfitposts. Da es gefühlte 50° C hatte, habe ich ein leiches Sommerkleid von Bershka getragen. Und nachdem selbst diverse kühle Getränke, viel Schatten und eine seeehr große Portion Schokieis nichts mehr gegen die Hitze aurichten konnten, musste eben einer der unzähligen Brunnen in Dresden für die ersehnte Abkühlung sorgen..:) Wie habt ihr euer Wochenende verbracht?

I´ve spent the last weekend in Dresden with my girls as you may know if you are following me on Instagram. If you´re not following me by know just have a look here: @pieces_of_mariposa. Before I will show you some impressions of the Saxon state capital here is one of the outfits I was wearing. As temperatures were really high I wanted to wear something airy and this dress by Bershka seemed to be perfect! And after drinking lots of cool drinks, spending most of the time in the shade and eating a huge amount of chocolate ice cream weren´t enough to beat the heat we finally found the desired cooling in one of the numerous fountains..:) Where did you spend your weekend?

Funny mani- and pedicure time with my sister. Her baby belly is so big that she isn´t able to paint her toenails by herself so I had to do it for her!:)

New In // My Last Etsy Order

Vor ein paar Wochen habe ich euch auf Facebook (folgt mir hier) schon erzählt, dass ich wieder einmal etwas bei Etsy bestellt habe. Es ist aber auch zu verlockend bei all den wunderbare Sachen, die es dort gibt!:) Vorletzte Woche kam dann endlich mein Päckchen und ich bin wirklich sehr zufrieden mit den drei Schmuckstücken, die ich mir bestellt hatte. Mittlerweile habt ihr jedes Stück schon mindestens einmal auf dem Blog gesehen, aber ich wollte euch dennoch ein paar Detailaufnahmen zeigen. Wie gefällt euch meine Ausbeute, welches Teil gefällt euch am Besten? Ich wünsche euch ein schönes Wochenende!

Some weeks ago I´ve told you on Facebook (you can follow me here) that I´ve ordered something at Etsy again. But who can resist at a shop that sells so much treasures?:) Two weeks ago my order arrived and I couldn´t be more happy with my new jewelry. Scallop Shorts

Bei den Temperaturen momentan kann ich mich einfach nicht dazu überwinden eine lange Hose anzuziehen. Daher versuche ich meine vorhandenen Röcke, Shorts und Kleider in den verschiedensten Kombinationen zu tragen und grabe dabei sogar wieder das ein oder andere ältere Teil aus. So habe ich auch diese Shorts aus einer alten Conscious Collection von H&M wieder für mich entdeckt, nachdem ich sie im letzten Sommer nicht wirklich oft getragen habe. Und trotz kurzer Shorts und Cropped Top habe ich mich ganz gut "angezogen" und nicht zu nackt gefühlt!:) Wie meistert ihr die momentan andauernde Hitzewelle?

With these high temperatures these days I can´t stand any long trousers or jeans so I´m trying to wear shorts, skirts or dresses in as many different combinations as possible. While searching for another summer combination I came across these shorts from an old Conscious Collection by H&M that I haven´t worn that much last summer. I´ve already worn it several times in the last two weeks and really like it! And although I´m not wearing very little material in this look I´ve felt very comfortable with it!:) How do you cope with the heatwave?

Living // Sparkling Jewelry Dish

Jetzt, wo die grobe Arbeit in unserer neuen Wohnung erledigt ist, geht es an die Feinheiten: Dekoration!:) Ich habe schon eine Weile nach einem Schälchen gesucht, das ich im Bad als Schmuckablage nutzen kann. Meine Schmuckkästchen bewahren ich zwar im Schlafzimmer auf, aber abends nach dem Abschminken bleibt meistens das ein oder andere Schmuckstück auf der Ablagefläche liegen. Damit es in Zukunft nicht unordentlich herumliegt, musste also eine Lösung her und nachdem ich nichts gefunden hatte, das mir richtig gefallen hat, habe ich mich an ein DIY gewagt. Jetzt habe ich zwei Schälchen, eine Küche und einen Küchentisch voller Glitzerpartikel, die ich vermutlich nie wieder los werde und ein zufriedenes Grinsen auf dem Gesicht, sobald ich meine neuen Glitzerfreunde im Bad erblicke!:)

Now that the hard work of our moving is over I can turn my attention to a very special and beloved part: decoration!:) I was searching for a small bowl that I can use as a jewelry dish in our bathroom for a while now. I´m keeping my jewelry boxes in the bedroom but in the evening after removing my make-up there are always some pieces that remain lying somewhere there so a clean solution had to be found! After a fruitless search for the perfect jewelry dish I decided to make one on my own. Well now I have to little bowls, a kitchen and a kitchen table full of sparkle that probably will be sparkling for the next ten years and a huge smile in my face whenever I´m going into my bathroom and seeing my new glittery babies!:)

Ihr benötigt ein Schälchen, Glitzerpartikel, Bastelkleber, Serviettenkleber zum Versiegeln und einen Pinsel. Das Schälchen mit Bastelkleber bestreichen, Glitzer drauf und über Nacht trocknen lassen. Anschließen mit dem Serviettenkleber versiegeln, damit der Glitzer nicht mehr abblättern kann, fertig!:)

You´ll need a small bowl, glitter, glue, a paint brush and some kind of lacquer/glue that works as a glaze. Cover the upper side of the small bowl with glue, brush it on and cover with the glitter. Let it dry over night. Then seal with the lacquer/glue and let it dry. Ready!:)

Drink O'Clock // Lavender Lemonade

Auch diese Woche habe ich einen erfrischenden Drink für euch, den sich jeder ganz schnell daheim zaubern kann und fantastisch schmeckt: Lavendel Limonade. Ich liebe die Zeit, in der man überall den Lavendel blühen sieht. Ach ja, einmal in der Provence in einem Lavendelfeld stehen, das wäre schon was Feines! Bis dahin schlürfe ich genüsslich meine selbst gemachte Lavendellimo und träume vom nächsten Urlaub..:)

The new weekend is calling for a new Drink O´Clock recipe don´t you think? This time I´m showing you how to make a delicious lavender lemonade. I love this time of the year when the lavender ist in full bloom and the sweet fragrance is filling the air. Some day I definitely have to travel to the Provence and stand in a field full of lavender! Until then I´m sipping my homemade lavender lemonade dreaming about my next vacations..:)

Zutaten (für einen Pitcher):
Einige Zweige Lavendel (am Besten ist natürlich ungespritzter aus dem Garten)
100 Gramm Zucker
Saft von 3-4 Zitronen 
500 ml Wasser
Sprudel zum Auffüllen des Pitchers 
Eiswürfel 

Zubereitung:

Den Zucker, den Zitronensaft und die 500 ml Wasser in einen Topf geben, zum Kochen bringen und köcheln lassen, bis sich der Zucker aufgelöst hat. Anschließend den Topf vom Herd nehmen, die Lavendelzweige (nur das obere Drittel mit den Blüten) hineingeben und etwa eine halbe Stunde ziehen lassen. Je länger ihr die Zweige in der Flüssigkeit lasst, desto intensiver wird der Geschmack. Abkühlen lassen, in einen Krug füllen und mit Sprudel aufgießen. Mit Eiswürfeln in ein Glas füllen, mit ein paar Lavendelzweigen garnieren und genießen.

Ingredients (for a pitcher):

some sprigs of lavender (it´s the best if you have some fresh out of the garden)
100 gram sugar

juice of 3-4 lemons
500 ml water
sparkling water to fill up the pitcher 
ice cubes

 Directions:

Pour the sugar, the lemon juice and half a litre of water in a pot and boil up until the sugar is dissolved. Take the pot off the heat and add the sprigs of lavender (you just need the upper third with the lavender blooms) and let rest for about half an hour. The longer you let it rest the more intensely the taste. Let it cool down to room temperature, pour into a pitcher and fill up with sparkling water. To serve it fill into a glass with some ice cubes and garnish with sprigs of lavender.

Dots Over Dots

In welchem Muster läutet man am Besten das Wochenende ein? Meiner Meinung nach mit vielen vielen Punkten!!:) Um aber diesen Punkte-Jumpsuit nicht nach einem Babystrampler ausschauen zu lassen, habe ich ihn mit einer auffälligen Kette (ist sie nicht toll?!) und einem weißen Blazer kombiniert und fertig war das Casual Friday Outfit. Ich wünsche euch einen guten Start ins Wochenende!

Which pattern is the best one to start the weekend? I think a large amount of dots will do it!!:) But to avoid that this dot-jumpsuit looks like a baby romper I´ve decided to wear it with a big statement necklace (pretty nice one huh?!) and a white blazer. So this is my perfect Casual Friday outfit. Wishing you a nice weekend peeps!

New In // Miu Miu

Heute zeige ich euch eine Neuerungenschaft, die eigentlich gar nicht so neu ist. Schon letzten Herbst hatten es mir diese bestickten Samtslipper von Miu Miu angetan. Mit 450 Euro waren sie mir dann aber einfach zu teuer und so habe ich sie mir damals aus dem Kopf geschlagen. Letztens habe ich dann bei meinem wöchentlichen Google-Such-Marathon ganz zufällig einen Händler bei Ebay entdeckt, der diese Schätzchen neu verkauft hat. Und wen stört es da schon, dass sie aus der letzten Herbst-/Winterkollektion sind? Ich fühle mich bei Tragen auf jeden Fall wie König Ludwig XIV, was bei dem weinroten Samt und der barocken Stickerei vermutlich auch kein Wunder ist!:) Wie steht ihr dazu, muss es bei euch immer das Neueste vom Neuen sein, oder kauft ihr zum Beispiel auch gerne in Outlets Teile aus älteren Kollektionen?

Today I´m showing you a new piece in my wardrobe that actually isn´t that new. In atumn of last year I already fell in love with this embroidered velvet slippers by Miu Miu. But c´mon, 450 Euro for a pair of flats, now way!! So recently while browsing through the internet I´ve found them by accident at Ebay. A dealer selled them brand new and unused, I couldn´t have been happier! And who cares that they are from the last F/W collection? Since they arrived I´ve worn them almost every day and I´m feeling like King Louis XIV walking in them with the burgundy-colored velvet and the barock embroidery!:) So what´s your opion? Are you only buying the latest trends or do you like to shop at outlets or search the internet for old treasures?
