Oh, Magnolia

In meinem letzten Post habe ich euch ja bereits eine kleine Preview zu dem heutigen Outfitpost gezeigt. Am Freitag Nachmittag sind wir durch ein paar Straßen spaziert, die ganz in der Nähe meiner Wohnung sind und die geradezu zum Träumen einladen, da es dort unglaublich schöne Häuser gibt. Wie es der Zufall wollte stand dort auch noch dieser wunderbar blühende Magnolienbaum, der sich perfekt als Hintergrund für Outfitbilder geeignet hat. Der Protagonist meines Outfits waren diesmal Boyfriendjeans. Ich bin kein großer Freund dieser Art von Beinkleid, ihr werdet mich daher nicht sehr häufig darin zu sehen bekommen. Meiner Meinung nach lassen sie mich noch kleiner wirken, als ich sowieso schon bin. Außerdem mag ich es nicht, dass sie einen so burschikos wirken lassen. Highheels sind daher ein Muss und da ich im Alltag eher ein Freund von flachem Schuhwerk bin, bleibt diese Hose meist im Schrank hängen. Aber ich finde, zusammen mit diesem schwarzen Top von Brandy & Melville, meiner heißgeliebten Kette von EllandEmm und silberfarbenen Heels mit passender Clutch ist das Outfit doch wieder etwas mehr Vanessa like.  Was meint ihr?:)

In my last post I´ve already gave you a little sneak peek for today´s outfit post. On Friday afternoon we´ve strolled around some streets which are near my flat and where I love to give myself up to some daydreams as the houses there are so damn beautiful! And as luck would have it we passed this great blooming magnolia tree, the perfect background for some outfit pictures. This time the protagonist were some boyfriendjeans. Im not the biggest fan of them at all, so you´re not going to see me wearing them very often. In my opinion they make me appear even smaller and furthermore I don´t like the fact that they make me look so boyish, so high heels are a must when wearing them. And because I prefer walking with flats in my every day life these jeans lead a miserable life in the depths of my wardrobe. But together with this black tank top by Brandy & Melville, my beloved necklace by EllandEmm and these metallic heels and clutch the outfit somehow has something Vanessa like. What do you say?:)

Pieces Of The Week 33

This week was all about sunny weather, spending lots of time outside and eating home made mango water ice 

with raspberries! <3

While soaking up the sun on Friday afternoon we stopped at this tree with its thousands of magnolia flowers and decided that it was the perfect location for new outfit pictures! Stay tuned for the whole outfit!

Beauty Favorites

Heute zeige ich euch eine kleine Auswahl an Kosmetikprodukten, die ich momentan ununterbrochen nutze und die daher bei meiner Beauty-Alltagsroutine nicht mehr wegzudenken sind.

Bei dem ersten Produkt handelt es sich um die Gesichtscreme "Ultra Facial Cream" von Kiehl´s. Seit ein paar Jahren bin ich ein großer Fan dieser Firma und erweitere meinen Kosmetikfundus regelmäßig um das ein oder andere Teil. Da ich eine sehr empfindliche und trockene Haut habe, muss ich mir meine Gesichtspflegeprodukte sehr sorgfältig aussuchen und bei Kiehl´s habe ich bisher nur positive Erfahrungen gemacht. Wenn ihr eine ähnlich empfindliche Haut habt wie ich, kann ich euch diese Gesichtscreme daher uneingeschränkt empfehlen. 

Bei Instagram habe ich euch bereits vor einiger Zeit meine Sammlung an Parfüms gezeigt (hier). Je nach Stimmung wechsel ich den Duft und momentan benutze ich meistens "Daisy" von Marc Jacobs. Ich liebe den frischen blumigen Duft und außerdem macht sich der Flakon auch hervorragend als Deko!:)

Das dritte Produkt in meiner Beauty Favorites Reihe ist ein Nagellack von Chanel, nämlich die Nummer 549 "Distraction". Die Farbe bewegt sich zwischen Koralle und Orange und hat auch noch einen leichten Schimmer, perfekt für frühlingshafte Outfits!

Today I´m showing you a little selection of beauty products which I´m using a lot lately and that I don´t want to miss for my daily beauty routine at the moment.

First comes the face cream "Ultra Facial Cream" by Kiehl´s. I´ve become a huge fan of this brand and I´m trying new products of the series every now and then. Because of my very dry skin I have to choose my beauty products very carefully and using the products by Kiehl´s I´ve been never disappointed yet. So if any of you have a dry skin like me too I can highly recommend you this face cream.

On Instagram I´ve already showed you my selection of perfumes (here). Depending on my mood I´m switching the fragrance and at the moment I´m using "Daisy" by Marc Jacobs. I love the fruity-fresh scent and the bottle is perfect for decoration too!:)

The third product of my beauty favorites series is a nailpolish by Chanel called "Distraction". The color is something between coral and orange with a light shimmer. Perfect for any spring outfit!

Easy Breezy Afternoon

Ich liebe diese unkomplizierten und luftigen Outfits, die man im Frühling tragen kann. Shirt, Jeans, Leo-Slipper, Jeansjacke und fertig. Kein Schal, Mütze, Handschuhe oder dergleichen, nein einfach ganz "easy breezy". Ziemlich toll, oder?:) Und nachdem ich euch vor einer gefühlten Ewigkeit dieses schöne Shirt von Maje in einem New In Post (hier) gezeigt habe, kann ich euch dieses Teilchen endlich getragen zeigen. In letzter Zeit kann ich gar nicht genug von knalligen Farben bekommen, ich hoffe, ihr habt euch also noch nicht satt gesehen, denn in den nächsten Wochen werden noch viele farbenfrohe Outfits folgen..:) Ich wünsche euch einen schönen Mittwoch!

I love all these easy and light outfits that you can wear when it´s getting warm outside. A shirt, some jeans, leo-slipper, a denim jacket and that´s it! No need for a big scarf, beanies, gloves and so on, no just an "easy breezy" outfit. Pretty cool, huh?;) And after I´ve showed you this cute shirt from Maje some time ago in this post I can finally wear it without tons of layers over it. Lately I can´t get enough of bright colors so I hope you´re not sick of seeing them on my blog as I will show you some more colorful outfits for sure..:) Happy Wednesday!

A Little Lime For Spring

Im letzten Winterschlussverkauf habe ich diesen limettengrünen Pullover mit Lochmuster für einen Schnäppchenpreis bei COS ergattert. Bei Frost und Schnee hatte ich allerdings nicht wirklich Lust ihn zu tragen und hatte sogar schon mit dem Gedanken gespielt, ihn wieder auszumisten. Zum Glück habe ich das nicht getan, denn bei dem schönen frühlingshaften Wetter letzte Woche hatte ich direkt Lust ihn auszuführen und ihr werdet ihn mit Sicherheit noch öfters hier auf dem Blog zu sehen bekommen! Die Hose habe ich mir letzte Woche bei Zara gekauft, es ist die erste weiße Hose nach bestimmt fünf Jahren, die in meinen Kleiderschrank einziehen darf und sie ist wirklich unheimlich bequem! Heute zeige ich euch auch endlich meine Kette von EllandEmm in Aktion, ist sie nicht hübsch?:) Momentan ist sie online leider ausverkauft, aber wenn sie euch gefällt, schaut regelmäßig im Shop von EllandEmm vorbei, sie wird von der lieben Jenn immer wieder nachgeliefert.

During the last winter sales I´ve grabed my hand on this lime colored sweater for a bargain price at COS. While it was still snowing and freezing outsite I wasn´t in the mood for wearing it and I´ve even thought about selling it again. Luckily I didn´t because as the weather was on my side last week I felt like I needed some color and I really apreciated wearing this colorful piece of my wardrobe. So I´m sure there will be more than just one outfit post with this item here on the blog! After about five years without having white pants I bought these ones at Zara last week and they are so comfy I can really recommend them to you guys! And at least I´m showing you my new EllandandEmm necklace in action do you like it as much as I do? Currently it is out of stock but the lovely Jenn from EllandEmm always replaces it so have a look at her shop on EllandEmm every now and then.

 Yesterday was the official Record Store Day so my boyfriend and I went to his favorite record store to buy some vinyl albums and listen to the band that played right in the shop. We had so much fun and the band 

(Smokestack Lightnin) was awesome!!

 Started the weekend with some vitamines. Looks a little toxic but it was really tasty! Mixed a mango and 

blueberries with water and milk and added a fresh passion fruit on top.

Drink O'Clock // Homemade Grapefruit Lemonade

Ich bin so glücklich, dass der Frühling endlich bei uns angekommen ist! Und was könnte bei den steigenen Temperaturen besser sein als selbstgemachte Limonade? Ich habe eigentlich kein festes Rezept, ich mische einfach das zusammen, auf das ich gerade Lust habe, oder was ich daheim finde. Dieses Mal gibt es also eine Limonade mit Grapefruits, Zitronen und frischem Basilikum und sie schmeckt wirklich unglaublich lecker und ist dazu noch viel gesünder, als die fertige Version aus dem Supermarkt. Probiert es aus, ihr werdet sicherlich nicht enttäuscht sein!! 

I´m so happy that spring finally has arrived! And what could be better than a homemade lemonade when the temperatures outside are rising? I don´t use a special recipe I just mix all ingredients together that are on my mind or that I can find at home. This time I was craving for something sour so I´ve bought some grapefruits, lemons and to make it more special some basil and it´s so delicious and so much healthier than the supermarket lemonade. Give it a try you won´t regret it!!

Zutaten (für eine große Karaffe): 
4 Grapefruits

4 Zitronen

ein paar Stängel Basilikum

Holunderblütensirup (Menge nach Geschmack)

700 ml Wasser (ich habe Wasser mit Kohlensäure genommen) 

Zubereitung:

3 1/2 Zitronen und 3 1/2 Grapefruits auspressen, die restliche halbe Zitrone und Grapefruit in Scheiben/Stücke schneiden und beides in einer Karaffe mischen. Den Basilikum in Stücke schneiden und zu dem ausgepressten Saft geben. Mit etwas Holunderblütensirup süßen. Mit dem Wasser auffüllen, umrühren, fertig!:)

 

Ingredients (for a pitcher):

4 Grapefruits
4 Lemons
some leafs Basil
elder flowers syrup (more or less syrup to taste)
700 ml water (I´ve used soda)
   
Directions:

Squeeze out the juice of 3 1/2 grapefruits and lemons, cut the remaining half of lemon and grapefruit into slices. Mix all in a pitcher. Cut the basil into pieces and add to the juice. Sweeten with the elder berry syrup. Fill up with water, mix it and that´s it!:)

Endlich habe ich sie gefunden: Die perfekte enge Lederjacke! Und da ein (Un-)Glück selten allein kommt hat es diese süße Shirt, dessen Print mich sehr stark an das Leomuster von Louis Vuitton erinnert, auch noch in meinen Einkaufskorb geschafft. Wie gefallen euch meine zwei Neuerrungenschaften?

Finally I´ve found the perfect leather jacket with a fitted shape! And as I was in the mood for shopping this cute shirt whose leo printing reminds me of the Louis Vuitton pattern also had to come home with me. Do do like my new purchases?

Pieces Of The Week 31

Da ich eine sehr arbeitsreiche Woche und Wochenende hatte, gibt es leider nicht sehr viel aufregendes, das ich euch zeigen könnte! Das Teil, dass es jedoch heute in meinen Pieces Of The Week Post schafft ist definitiv das allerliebste Lieblingsteil der letzten Woche. Es handelt sich um eine wunderschöne Kette von EllandEmm, Model Audrey. Auf Instagram hatte ich euch bereits ein Bild gezeigt (@pieces_of_mariposa) und am Samstag ist sie nun endlich angekommen. Ich bin hellauf begeistert und sie ist sogar noch schöner, als ich erwartet hatte!!! Ich hoffe, ihr habt das sonnige Wochenende schön verbracht und könnt tiefenentspannt und ohne Sonnenbrand in die neue Woche starten! <3

Keeping it very short today. Had a super busy week so I´m only showing you one item this time. But I can asure you that it´s the best piece as I was waiting for it so eagerly. I´m talking about this awesome necklace from EllandEmm I´ve ordered some weeks ago.
